Viewing this position as corner cycle, it is easy to comprehend how the top level is to turn. The turning direction is congruent to the direction of the aim of the corners. Meeting the situation displaced about 90°, so you have to move the edges, it is no simple understanding, that the edges, brought down to third level, have to use the same turning direction as when you care about the corners. The aiming direction is the turning direction.

It is yet worth to use those sequences only with two misplaced corners. If you care primarely about edges as first stones to fix on first level, your eye 'is choosing' the corners as stones to move. Nice, that nothing else on first and second level is changed.

   
Betrachtet man diese Stellung als Eckenzyklus, so ist einfach zu verstehen, wie die Ecken an ihren Platz zu bringen sind. Die Drehrichtung ist kongruent zum Erreichen des Ziels. Trifft man aber die beiden Stellungen zueinander um 90° versetzt an, hat man also Kanten zu bewegen, so fällt es schwer zu glauben, daß man, hat man sie erst nach unten gebracht, genauso behandeln muß - die Zielrichtung ist auch die Drehrichtung, obschon die Kanten auf der dritten Schicht ausgerichtet werden.

Es kann sich lohnen, schon bei zwei versetzten Ecken (bevorzugt man die Kanten auf der ersten Ebene, so 'wählt' sich das Auge die Ecken) diese Kombination anzuwenden. Das Schöne daran ist, daß nichts anderes auf der ersten und zweiten Schicht verändert wird.
